So grab your beginner's magic cape, don't forget to practice and be careful to only use your newfound magic skills for good!
Easy Magic Tricks
1. The Sticky Pencil
Who needs glue when you've got a watch? With this trick, you’ll have your audience believing that pencils have suddenly developed an affinity for your hand. How does it work? With a little sleight of hand and a lot of wrist action.
What You'll Need:
A pencil (non-melting kind, please)
A watch with a snug strap
The Trick:
Secretly slip another pencil behind the strap of your watch.
Show your audience the pencil in your other hand and position it behind your secret pencil
With dramatic flair, pretend the pencil is sticking to your hand as you place it behind the watch strap.
Don your most impressive "I’m a genius" face as your audience gawks in disbelief. This trick is also known as the magnetic pencil and was a great trick I used to show older kids at school in exchange for protection against bullies!
2. The Disappearing Coin
Coins are a bit like socks—they disappear without warning. But unlike your missing socks, this coin trick is entirely intentional and under your control.
To make a coin disappear, you'll need:
A Coin
Double-sided sticky tape
The Trick:
Stick the coin to the back of your hand using the tape.
Announce your intention to make the coin vanish.
Pretend to take the coin with your other hand, while it remains glued to the back of your hand.
Drop your hand casually to your side to avoid detection.
Revel in your newfound power to make money disappear, minus the usual guilt.
If you wish, pretend to catch an invisible coin, flip it up, "catch it" on the back of your hand to reveal the coin!
3. Spinning Straw Illusion
Forget mind over matter; this is about static over straw. Impress your audience by making a straw spin on its own—no touch required.
What You’ll Need:
A bottle
A straw with a paper wrapper
The Trick:
Secretly rub your hand along the straw to build static electricity.
Place the straw gently across the top of the bottle.
Wave your hands dramatically around the straw.
Watch as the straw spins, powered by static electricity and your boundless charisma.
Savour their amazement, while secretly hoping they never discover the science behind it.
4. The Appearing Coin
Money might not grow on trees, but in your hands, it falls from thin air. This trick will have your audience questioning whether you’re part magician, part mint.
What You’ll Need:
A coin (no rabbits required)
The Trick:
Balance a coin on top of your head before you start.
Ask your friend to hold their hands cupped together.
Position your hands next to theirs, building suspense.
At the right moment, tilt your head slightly and allow the coin to fall into their hands.
Smile knowingly as they consider elevating you to "minor deity" status.
5. The Sliced Banana Magic Trick
Close-up magic with fruit I hear you ask?
Why settle for a regular banana when you can have one that slices itself? This trick is as delicious as it is impressive.
What You’ll Need:
A banana
Needle
The Trick:
Before performing, use the needle to pierce the banana peel and carefully slice the fruit inside.
When you're ready, peel the banana to reveal the pre-sliced fruit.
Bask in the glow of their astonishment as they ponder how fruit could defy its natural state.
Enjoy the banana because every trick has its perks.
With these simple yet mind-bending magic tricks, you’ll have your friends convinced you possess superhuman powers of enchantment. We suggest you humbly accept your new role as their magical guide but remember—every great magician knows when to disappear. 6.Amazing Magic tricks with playing cards
Here's an easy magic trick using a pack of cards:
This trick requires a pack of cards
Some acting skills
Grab a pencil and put a small dot on the corner of the back of any card. We're going to perform this easy card trick using this special card as your key card.
Put it at the bottom of the deck. Ask your audience member to take a playing card, look at it and remember it. Have them return the card to the top of the deck, and then you'll perform a simple cut of the cards, which automatically places their card right next to your specially marked card.
If you want, have the spectator cut the deck as many times as they wish, and when they're happy their card is hopelessly lost in the deck, spread the cards face down, and you'll secretly find your card with the pencil dot on. All you have to remember is that their card is to the LEFT. Knowing this, you can have some fun and present finding their card using the mystical technique you learned from one of those Harry Potter films! This is a classic trick and great for anyone looking for modern magic and card tricks.
Easy Magic Tricks Conclusion:
From coin tricks to card tricks, you're well on your way to becoming a professional magician! Now you know the secrets to making people go wow, these easy magic tricks are just the beginning to learning the art of magic. You see, the key is not within the secret of the trick, be it an optical illusion, mind reading or spoon bending trick, but actually learning how to perform these tricks with flair and in an entertaining fashion.
